The Missing Fairy Door, 4/20 Day, Chain Dining.
Hey Friends!
Happy Easter and 4/20 Day!

New York has Central Park, Rhode Island has Roger Williams State Park, and Fresno has Woodward Park, among a few others. However, after visiting Golden Gate Park some years ago, I would have to say they all come in second, except for Central Park, which is fighting deadly even for first place with Golden Gate.
Each park has great features for adults and kids, but Golden Gate Park always had something special for the kids, and now it’s gone.
The first door built into one of the trees on the park grounds has gone missing. Poof! Gone and eradicated from its tree!
After over 10 years, the door on the unpaved path between the Japanese Tea Garden and Blue Heron Lake is no longer there.
Where has it gone?
Amanda Bartlett, Assistant Local Editor, SF Gate, has the details.

In the mood to play pirate with the kids for a day? Does a 123-year-old tunnel beneath a home on the beach with that tunnel leading to the LaJolla beach in San Diego make it more appealing, or did we have you at the 123-year-old tunnel and the voices of sea lions bellowing above the surf?

Over the years, I’ve been privileged to drink or eat at a restaurant, bar, or bistro at the beginning of a burgeoning chain.
As a guest or investor, I’ve gone from coffee to a cheeseburger in paradise (RIP Jimmy Buffett) to a rather delightful steak dinner at the beginning.
In some places, I was invited as a guest or a guest of someone else. I’ve also been part of the opening of a chain as an investor and advisor to the chain in the making.
If you get the chance one day to eat at the first of the first chain, do it. It’s exciting and fun to say you were there at the start.
To get you going, here you go—your possible first chain restaurant.
Here are the details from Karen Palmer, Contributing LA Food Editor at SF Gate.

Tomorrow is Easter, April 20th, 2025, but for some folks, Easter is just another thing to celebrate on 4/20. Yes, that thing we were afraid to mention back in the day, but now we can be boisterous and yell, "It’s weed day 2025."
It looks like it all started in 1997, on April 20th, from 4:20 p.m. to 4:20 a.m., and the buzz is still in the air worldwide.
Lester Black, Cannabis Editor for SF Gate, has the details.

How do you make a restaurant and yourself famous all in one day at Disneyland?
Olivia Hebert, a News Reporter at SF Gate, has the secret.
