Shoot the Breeze: Special FREE Edition, Coconut Crabs May Know Where Amelia Earhart Is!
I’ve been asked a question. Here’s the answer!
Hey Friends!
I had a follower try to comment last week, but they couldn't. They reached out to me to ask why. I didn't have an answer. I don't know if it's because this edition of California Mishegoss is part of the paid subscribers' reward or something else. I am still trying to get the correct answer from the BOT at Substack.
It seems they like the idea of a BOT trying to answer specific questions that need a human to answer. I'll figure it out soon.
Anyway, I'm offering everyone this week's and next week's Shoot the Breeze. I hope you guys who are paid subscribers understand and know it won't always be that way.
Shoot the Breeze was designed to be a reward and will always be that way, except for the few times I release it for free so others can see what they get if they subscribe.
Enjoy today's read!

I never thought about Amelia Earhart being crab food. I always figured she went down with her plane and landed at the bottom of the ocean, with much bigger sea life to contend with.
After reading this article about coconut crabs by Tiare Tuuhia of Atlas Obscura Atlas Obscura, I'm starting to wonder if they are the culprits of her disappearance!

Is it a maze, prison, or something more dastardly? Years ago, I had the pleasure, well, maybe not exactly a pleasure, but the opportunity to visit this subterranean so-called prison. Prison de Kara in Meknes, Morocco, was designed without doors, bars, or windows.
Was it scary? Yes. I kept thinking about the people who were sent to this desolate location. Was it freaky? Yes again. I know I freaked out when I stopped to check out a few cells, and the tour kept on moving without me, and I found myself lost in the maze. Another tour followed me, and I was led back to freedom. But, what a feeling.
Atlas Obscura takes you on a tour of the prison in this article. Enjoy the read.
