Saturday June, 22nd. Happy Summer!
Hi Friends!
We hope everyone is well and enjoying the beginning of summer. Although, the heat is rising around here, and it will be blazing over the next few days.
Here’s a little Beach Boys for you and 6 things to think about this week!
Have a great one!
Be Well! Stay Safe!

When comparing them to Santa Rosa, the following story does nothing to help the valley cities of Bakersfield and Fresno as a place to stay and play.
But in reality, Fresno and Bakersfield were rated above Santa Rosa as places to stay, vacation, and have fun.
Roger Coryell from The Sonoma County Gazette writes about how Forbes and their list of best and worst cities to visit rated Fresno and Bakersfield above Santa Rosa as stated above.
He writes about the "smell" in Fresno and having the "most car accidents."
As for Bakersfield, he mentions oil rigs and so much more, which you can read about here.
I think Mr. Coryell needs to take a trip to Fresno and Bakersfield and open his eyes to what's happening in these two cities.
Am I being prejudiced? I don't think so. Considering that I lived on the East Coast for years, including New York City, which I see as the worst place for car accidents, number one and number two would be the smells in the city. Of course, New York has the best pizza, so there!
Don't let the story stop you from visiting us in Fresno or Bakersfield. You're welcome to come and play anytime you wish!

When I was younger and living in Boston, I spent many weekends going through Western Mass and New Hampshire caves.
It was the highlight of my week. My Dad started getting me into cave exploring as a youngster, which stuck with me through college.
Once I started working, I didn't have time to explore. I missed those explorations since they were a time to reflect on things I never thought about routinely.
If you are into cave exploring, Katie Dowd, Managing Editor of SF Gate, writes a story about the Black Chasm Cavern, which is now privately owned but still accessible to you on a first-come, first-served basis.

The top story this week hit me semi-hard. While I'm still a newbie living in Fresno, I have adopted it as my hometown; with that, I want to protect it.
We may have bad air, but it isn't as smelly as been alluded to in story number one, as much of it is smog. We may have car accidents, but not as many as I have seen in New York or Boston.
We have lakes, concerts and many other things to do here. The following story highlights the week from FRESYES; it gives you details on everything that is happening around town and covers Lake Millerton in detail.
Here's Jason Farris, Owner of FRESYes, with the details.

This next story has nothing to do with California but everything to do with starting a campfire.
With so many families getting ready for summertime camping trips, we thought we would share this story about building the perfect campfire from Atlas Obscura.
5
Forget “Burning Man” and other get-togethers around the globe.
Plumas National Forrest in Plumas County, California, is bracing for its own festival. The Rainbow Family Gathering is coming, so prepare for problems if you attend.

Tish Tang Campground is a riverside campground with superior views, crystal clear water, and a relaxing atmosphere that, if I were you, I would get out there and check it out.
Not that I’m trying to make you go there, but the author makes it sound inviting. If I can’t get there this summer, maybe I can live through your visits and comments.
