Are you searching for a quaint town to relax or possibly get married in? Andrew Chammings, Editor at Large at SF Gate, has the perfect quaintest place to check out.
Situated at the Sierra Foothills, the town of Murphys has been described by Forbes Magazine as the "quaintest travel destination in the U.S."
If you make the journey to Murphy, let us know your thoughts. I'm sure the readers of this newsletter, as well as Patti and I, would like to know.

I always hated it when someone would knock on the cities I lived in as the worst places to travel to.
Forbes has compiled a list of the best and worst cities to travel to in this subsumed. So take hold and consider the list, but don't take it seriously if you want my opinion. Well, here I am in Fresno, California, and it's happening again. Forbes magazine has rated Fresno number 3 as the worst city to visit this summer.
Thrillist reporter Opheli Garcia Lawler breaks it down for us here.
I beg to differ, and with the #3 story of the week, you'll see why.I beg to differ, and with the #3 story of the week, you'll see why.

After reading the story about the worst cities to travel to this summer, with Fresno coming in third, it made me think of times past when a few cities I lived and worked in were titled the same.
Those cities had great things going on throughout the summers, as I can remember, that made them unique, just like Fresno.
So here's FRESYES's take on what is Hot and Happening this weekend and week in Fresno.

Is there anyone out there who enjoys swimming in polluted ocean water? I don't believe I'll hear a yea from anyone except for maybe a surfer or two.
Then again, I know most wouldn't like it, but catching a wave is important, and pollution may not be a deterrent.
Here is a case for not swimming at this Bay Area Beach, Linda Mar in Pacifica, and another in San Diego, Imperial Beach. Both were labeled the most polluted beaches in the U.S.
Great going, guys.
Here's the rest of this story from Tessa McLean, California Editor for SF Gate.

If you are thinking about swimming in the waters off Santa Cruz, be on the lookout for jaws.
That's correct, jaws. Maybe not as big as the movie character, but just as dangerous.
According to reports from swimmers and experts in and around the area, there seems to be an uptick in the number of sharks swimming in the waters this summer off of Santa Cruz.
Here's the full story from Jake Flores of Action News 8, Monterey.

I’m going to let this story tell itself. Although I will add that when greed comes into play nothing is off the table and the stakes become higher.
What the weekend without a little science?
A) Waste Heat and Decarbonizing Food Processing from UC Davis
B) California Students and Advancing Technology
