Pismo Beach, Morro Bay. What Do They Have in Common? Lego, and a Naked Sculpture
Hey Friends!
Making Changes
When I considered deleting this newsletter, it was over me thinking I wanted to write more, which I still want to do, but I enjoy publishing this newsletter to get people thinking about our golden state.
So, each weekend, I will attempt to write about something related to one story, if there is one. This should help to satisfy my writing craving until I come up with another idea.
But this newsletter isn’t going anywhere.
1.
Today, we’re kicking off with a story about Pismo Beach. This has become my latest favorite spot on the coast. My number one spot before was Cayucos, but over the last two years, Pismo has won my heart for its beaches, people, restaurants, nightlife, small and friendly community, and more.
It’s not just us who agree that Pismo is the best spot on the Coast; our grandkids love it, maybe even more than we do, for the gift shops (too many to mention) that have served their prowess well for finding just the right gift for either a family member or themselves.
Over and above our family, USA Newspaper named its top 10 small coastal towns within the US this past Wednesday, with Pismo Beach as number one on their list and Morro Bay in fifth place.
I’ve written about both small towns in this newsletter and our food newsletter, DelPaggio’s Cucina, where I wrote mainly about the food at both. Pizmo Cafe had the best dough I’ve tasted since moving here from New York 18 years ago. It doesn’t have the New York or other East Coast city flavor, but it’s the closest I’ve tasted.
In Morro Bay, the seafood at Giovanni’s was fresh, juicy, and tasty, just like back east. Sitting by the docks as the boats came in with their catches -of the day made the experience even better.
I’ll leave you to think about your next trip to either of these coastal towns and what you can do by reading the article in SF Gate.

I’ve always thought of New York as the craziest place for artwork in the real world. With all the artists around the City, it just begs for avant-garde creativity.
Now, San Francisco is getting in the groove with a naked woman on the Embarcadero.
Kasia Pawlawska, Local Editor for SF Gate, has the complete story.
3.
Our first time visiting California, our West Coast family took us to Fuddruckers.
Little did I know there was still one around in the Bay Area.
Jessica Yadegaran, Food Editor for SF Gate, has the details.

This next story is local and happening today in Fresno. Sorry for the late information, but it’s early morning, and you can still attend the Earth Day festivities at Fresno City College.
Although Earth Day is April 22 this year, Fresno City College started early to get everyone in the mood.
This, and other weekend events around the state, is why I may start publishing this newsletter on Fridays instead of Saturdays.
Andrea Farber De Zubiria of GV Wire has the details.

What do you consider to be the best job in the world?
I’m sure many jobs are going through your mind right now. Would being a master builder for Legoland be at the top of the list?
PJ Catalano is part of a team that designs, builds, and maintains their creations at Legoland.
Here’s more of his story from Dakota Kim, SF Gate.
By The Way…
