Imagine driving on I-80 in California in Auburn in Placer County and seeing a group of 40-foot tall statues of a man and woman, mostly nude, created by a local dentist.
Then imagine school children riding a bus to school and going by them daily.
So, let's change the bus routes to satisfy parents and others within the County.
Katie Dowd, Managing Editor, SF Gate, has the complete story.

Lompoc, California, has been home to some famous, notorious individuals. That's due to the local Federal prison, a Penitentiary, and a Camp for the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
It also hasn't been a huge tourist attraction for visitors even though it has excellent beachfront views, but that's changing now, and some of it has to do with Elon Musk.
New things, big and bold, are now happening for Lompoc, and Tessa McLean, California Editor, SF Gate, and Melissa Heckscher, Thrillist, have the complete breakdown of why you should visit.

I love ice cream, especially soft serve in a waffle cone, if possible. I don't know anyone who doesn't. Although I'm sure a few prefer Gelato, as I do, and even sorbet, I still think ice cream is the one.
But there is one thing that tops ice cream, even soft serve, in my book: Italian shaved ice. Even if it's not Italian, I love shaved ice more than ice cream served any way you can think of.
Shaved ice is refreshing, cooling, and calming; my favorite is lemon, which melts slowly in your mouth. It makes your taste buds come to life while cooling you down after a hot day or meal.

You're traveling on the 101 scenic highway in California, heading towards Monterey, and suddenly craving a sandwich. It's not just any sandwich either; you want something out of the ordinary.
That's where this spot comes in handy. It's a tiny deli that Yelp has proclaimed the best to get the best sandwich in California.
The trick is Fritos! You read that correctly: a sandwich dusted with Fritos.

There you are, hiking one day in the California hills, helping to search for a lost hiker, and you come along a celebrity hiking. What are the odds?
To these hikers in this story, the odds were in their favor.
I've bumped into celebrities before, but it was usually on the streets of New York or in a restaurant I frequented or my Uncle owned in New York and Massachusetts, never on a hiking trail in New Hampshire or any other spot on the East Coast.
Amy Graff, Senior News Editor, SF Gate, has the complete story for you, and it has a happy ending.
