Hi Friends!
The other day, I decided I needed to move forward and try something I’ve wanted to do for a long time.
Now that I'm 70 and away from the political madness I was involved in for years, I've started a new newsletter titled The Political Exchange (the title by Patti).
In my previous life, as I like to call it, I helped finance a few politicians, consulted with a few politicians, ran a couple of campaigns, and lived in a family full of politicians and political contacts.
The one thing I was taught from a young age was not to vote by party. "Always vote for the person you feel would do a great job," my Uncle would say. He was a great politician, someone I had looked up to over the years.
All of this leads me to this decision.
I will be closing down Your Golden State as of today. This is the last issue to be published, and I filled it out with link after link for you to check out.
I'm sorry to leave you; I feel it's time to move on and try my hand at political commentary.
I know this is sudden, but after speaking with Patti the other morning and asking her opinion on what I would be writing about (even though I already knew what I wanted to write about, I needed to hear her opinion), out of the blue when asked she said "you should write about politics. You know you love them.”
I hope you understand and follow me on the new newsletter, The Political Exchange, here on Substack.
I am not exporting anyone to the new site unless you contact me at markjohn1@mac.com if you want to come over. I will keep Your Golden State open next week if you want me to switch you myself. Otherwise, you can search for The Political Exchange and sign up.
Patti and I want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the support you have given us over the years. It helped in making this newsletter successful.
Now on to a new and exciting adventure. I hope you will join us.
Be Well! Stay Safe!
Thank you for your support

Hope to see you there.

Sorry to see you not doing this newsletter any more, but you need to do what makes you happy. I looked forward to it every week and will miss it.
I've often thought about doing a political type newsletter also (not a part of SoNovelicious), but I'm not knowledgable about politics by training (other than my own personal partisan views), so I don't know how long my "partisan" political views would sustain a newsletter. lol
I do like what a few writers are doing in the political realm related to commenting on a few articles written by others and pointing out the lies, fallacies etc. but others are probably doing it far better than I ever could. I may re-think this after the election is over and make a decision on that moving forward.
I'm subscribing to you under my other user name so I can keep politics totally separate from SoNovelicious.
