News
This first story is one for the record books and would make a great movie, in my opinion.
Think about a con man, a castle in Death Valley, and a gold mine with lots of gold, or so the con goes.
It seems that Walter Edward Perry Scott, better known as Death Valley Scotty, had a great thing going on in the early ‘1900s.
He convinced others to invest in what he claimed was a tremendous gold find in Death Valley.
The rest of the story and his life are history and what good movies are made of. If nothing else, they are great lore.
Vigilante Teens in Southern California
If you reside in Riverside County, California, and are a sexual predator, these teenage vigilantes are out to rid their County of people like you.
The local authorities and many individuals don’t generally promote vigilantes. Still, in this case, I believe these teenage vigilantes deserve some respect for what they did and how they made it happen.
Travel
An “Atmospheric River” has arrived in the Bay Area and is moving up the coast into Washington, causing havoc throughout the area.
This storm is causing major travel restrictions to major tourist destinations, so please take care to follow weather advisories if you’re traveling in the area.

A Winery for the Younger Consumer
Napa Valley, that ultra-expensive, sometimes pricey winery stopover for the younger consumer crowds, has opened a winery for just that crowd.
Far Niente Wine Estate just opened the Bella Union winery.
Opened in September, this laid-back, earthy winery is just the stop for concerned adults looking to enjoy the taste of Napa without the cost of Napa.
Entertainment
The Coachella lineup for next year is growing, and it’s starting with headliners Lady GAGA, Post Malone, and Green Day, just to name a few.
“Goldenvoice announced the full Coachella lineup on Wednesday, with artists including Charli XCX, Missy Elliot, Megan Thee Stallion, Benson Boone, Lisa, Shaboozey, the Go Go’s and FKA Twigs, among others, confirmed to appear at the festival’s 2025 offering.
Gaga notoriously headlined the music festival in 2017 after Beyoncé – then pregnant with her twins Sir and Rumi – dropped out as that year’s original headliner, per doctor’s orders. Beyoncé returned to headline the following year.”
Keep following here on Your Golden State Vibes for up-to-date info on the coming festival.
What would you think of gambling 20 million dollars on a music venue in San Francisco?
Would think you lost your mind, or maybe others would think that, right?
Well, Rudy Colombini may have lost his mind, but his spirit to build this venue in a five-story building in the Lower Polk area in San Francisco in hopes of rivaling New York and Los Angeles music venues in the Lower Polk area is not lost on anyone.
Good Luck, Rudy. We will be there to check it out soon.
Food
The Little Store That Cooks
This little 400-square-foot store on the main street in Long Beach, California, begs to bring in the interested chef within you and the book-reading kind of chef you may want to be.
This tiny store front houses a bookstore called Kitchen Lingo, full of rare and modern books, as well as magazines about cooking for you to peruse, enjoy, and, of course, purchase.
Matt Miller, a former owner of restaurants, wine bars, and other culinary ventures, is the man behind the idea that reading about cooking is just as important as cooking itself.
