Ghost Town and Artist Haven-Bombay Beach
My Personal Favorite
On the shores of the Salton Sea sits the famed Bombay Beach. Once a booming desert resort town, Bombay Beach went through many phases over the years, but never actually lost its fame. While people once visited this place for recreational purposes, they now visit it for its post-apocalyptic vibes and the unique artistic creations scattered all around. From a tourist attraction to a ghost town to an artist's heaven, the town continues to give so much to its visitors. If you’re ever in Imperial County and looking for things to do and see, consider visiting this open and unconventional “art museum.” But, before you embark on your journey, make sure you understand the history of this quirky town, and we promise you’ll enjoy it so much more.
There’s a seaside golf course that boasts million-dollar views and affordable tee times
Of those that aren’t private, most are either luxe resorts or jam-packed munis. To land a tee time, we’ll need to have some luck with the reservation system, or set aside a good chunk of our paycheck. If you’ve got Clint Eastwood in your contacts, you might ask if he can host at Cypress Point.
This week with summer almost in full bloom we have two cities that have some beaches worth checking out
First up: Castro Valley
You wouldn't typically think of Castro Valley as a beach-town, given its landlocked position in the East Bay. Yet, within a short drive, there are breathtaking coastlines and sun-soaked shores waiting to be discovered. Prepare for a salty breeze and ocean views, because we're taking a sun-drenched journey to the top beaches near Castro Valley.
Next up: Pittsburg-California That Is
California is known for its breathtakingly beautiful beaches and luckily for residents and visitors to Pittsburg, California, there are several stunning coastal spots just a short drive away. Let’s embark on a journey to uncover these hidden gems that are well worth exploring.
