Hi Everyone!
I was prepared to make a significant announcement about changes in this newsletter, but after some thought, I realized that the important changes aren’t happening. I’ll be making changes, but they’ll be small, and I hope you like them.
Before moving to California in 2006, I visited the state many times. Most of the time, it was for business, but there were also times when I just wanted to hang out with friends I had made here over the years.
One time, I was taken to a pizza joint called Chuck-E-Cheese. I didn’t know what to expect, and my friends didn’t tell me; all they said was it’d be a good time.
We were hauling around their kids, who were all excited and told me that the pizza was great, they had games to play, and the rest was a surprise.
Well, it was a surprise. When I walked in, a giant rat approached me and welcomed me to the funniest place to eat.
After the welcome and seeing other giant creatures running around, I could tell from the atmosphere that the pizza wasn’t going to be as good as my friends' kids told me, and I wasn’t going to enjoy this experience.
I will admit it was crazy and fun, and I did enjoy seeing all the kids enjoying the show, but I just couldn’t get used to seeing a giant rat sing and dance.
The next night, they took me to a Pizza and Pipes pizza spot, where a pipe organ was playing while I was eating. Now that I could deal with.
But, I will admit I had a special place way inside for the rat and his gang, but over the years, they have closed most of the Chuck-E-Cheese spots around, but the rat still lives in a few spots in California, like Fresno, and in this story, but he isn’t a live person under that rat head any longer. He’s a robot.
Are you in the mood for a trip to Egypt? How about a trip to Los Angeles? How about a trip to Los Angeles to see Egypt?
We believe we can help you take that trip if you’re willing to drive to Los Angeles when you feel the need, the need (can you hear the voice of Tom Cruise?) for Egypt.
A trip to The Commons in Chino Hills will fulfill your dream, sort of.
California is not only known for its historical culture, homes, and events, but it is also historically known for movies, movie studios, and theatres.
One of these historic theatres is the one in this story, California’s First Theater, located in Monterey on the corner of Pacific and Scott Street, a block from the waterfront.
It’s something you may want to check out before it’s gone.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. I believe that, and over the years, I have not only seen photos that have lasted in my memories but also met photographers like Angel Adams, Helmut Newton, and Julius Shulman, many of whom have passed away, whose pictures have told many a story.
That’s why I believe this article and its photographer are telling a beautiful, colorful story of San Francisco.
Where do you stand on yo-yos? Did you love them, or did you not? Are you still an enthusiast like this group in Chico, California?
Chico is a college town north of San Francisco, but more importantly, it’s known as the party mecca of California and even the East Coast.
When I was in college in the ‘70s, we heard about Chico and, one year, made a trip there to party. It was unbelievable, especially for a couple of 20-year-old students from the East Coast.
I can honestly state that it changed the way we threw parties when we got back to our college on the East Coast.
Now it’s all about that famous toy, the yo-yo.
By The Way…
